9 MONTHS IN PARLIAMENT, ZERO DELIVERY — STOP CLAIMING OTHERS’ WORK –, NANA MOSES SLAMS HON. BA

Following the statement issued by the Mim Ahafo Community Co-Operative Credit Union (MACCCU), I find it both sad and disappointing — yet necessary — to add my voice to the matter. It is unfortunate that Hon. Haruna Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, would attempt to claim credit for a project he neither initiated nor sponsored.

The facts are clear and cannot be twisted: the newly installed solar-powered traffic light at the Mim Roundabout is 100% a MACCCU initiative, financed entirely through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Not a pesewa came from Hon. Mohammed’s office, nor from any political party. The credit belongs to MACCCU’s visionary leadership, which continues to demonstrate genuine commitment to community development.

What makes this situation even more troubling is that after nine months in Parliament, with full access to the MP’s Common Fund, Hon. Mohammed has failed to provide any meaningful development project for the people of Asunafo North. He came into office with bold promises — pledging jobs and development within his first 100 days — but has delivered nothing beyond excuses. His fundraising trip to the United States, supposedly in support of the Mim Polyclinic, remains shrouded in secrecy, with no public accounting of the funds raised. What the community received instead were merely three 32-inch televisions — a gesture that raises more questions than it answers.

The contrast with his predecessor is stark. Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie successfully lobbied for the Mim Polyclinic, secured the Goaso Astroturf, and even funded another Astroturf at Mim from his personal resources. Instead of building on such a legacy, Hon. Mohammed has resorted to undermining his predecessor’s achievements — an approach that has repeatedly been exposed by facts and evidence.

In every functioning democracy where accountability is non-negotiable, an MP with such a record of unfulfilled promises, questionable fundraising activities, and attempts to hijack community-driven projects for political mileage would have been compelled to resign. Sadly, in Asunafo North, our reality is different — we are left with a representative more focused on political showmanship than genuine delivery.

I therefore stand firmly with MACCCU’s statement and urge the public and the media to reject Hon. Mohammed’s false claims. The credit for this project belongs solely to MACCCU — a proven partner in community progress.
