NPP FLAGBEARERSHIP RACE: DR. BAWUMIA STANDS TALL:HIS RECORD SPEAKS FOR HIM — FORMER AMENFI EAST MCE

Hon. Frederick Korankye, former Amenfi East MCE, has expressed strong confidence in Former Vice President and flagbearer hopeful Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s chances in the NPP presidential race, noting that he is well-positioned to secure the party’s leadership in the upcoming elections.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Times Newspaper, Hon. Korankye revealed that in previous internal assessments, Dr. Bawumia scored 50 percent in Amenfi East. He is confident the figure will rise to 70–75 percent this time, out of approximately 1,200 delegates. “I am hopeful the majority will vote for him,” he said.

The former MCE described Dr. Bawumia as “the only sellable candidate” for the NPP, emphasizing that his popularity and proven track record make him the natural choice to lead the party.

He stressed that Dr. Bawumia’s presence and visibility across the country make him a candidate who resonates with the people. “His billboards, T-shirts, and campaigns are everywhere. There is no need to talk too much — the evidence is all out there,” Hon. Korankye stated.

Highlighting Dr. Bawumia’s achievements, Hon. Korankye pointed to his contributions in economic planning, digitalization, and national development initiatives. “He has a track record that cannot be ignored,” he said, underscoring the Vice President’s competence.

He added that consistency is key in politics, and it is important to present Dr. Bawumia, whose track record spans all sectors of the economy, as the candidate capable of leading the NPP to victory in the 2028 general elections.

The former MCE praised Dr. Bawumia’s restraint in handling attacks from opponents, noting that not responding to baseless attacks demonstrates his maturity and readiness to lead the party in 2028. “Absorbing these nuisance attacks shows he is capable of leading with wisdom,” he added.

He noted that the attacks against Dr. Bawumia were mere hatred, aimed at creating unnecessary divisions within the party. Hon. Korankye urged other aspirants to desist from such attacks, emphasizing that unity is critical. “We must remain united as one party,” he said.

Hon. Korankye further called on NPP delegates to turn out in large numbers and vote massively for Dr. Bawumia, stressing that strong delegate support is key to the party’s success.

He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s humility and commitment to public service make him a leader the party and the nation can trust. “He listens to the people, delivers results, and inspires confidence,” he said.

“Dr. Bawumia has what it takes to lead the NPP and secure victory for all of us in 2028,” Hon. Korankye added, appealing to delegates to rally behind the Vice President and back him fully.

In conclusion, Hon. Korankye reaffirmed his belief that Dr. Bawumia’s achievements, humility, and resilience make him the candidate best suited to lead the NPP forward. “The choice is clear. Let us vote for proven leadership,” he urged.
