Discussions centred on the need to deepen collaboration between industry and academia to generate practical research outcomes capable of addressing challenges confronting farmers and other actors along the tree crops value chain.
The two sides also considered how KNUST’s expertise in science, technology and innovation could be harnessed to support the development of sustainable production systems, value addition and improved productivity within the sector.
The collaboration is expected to create opportunities for research and knowledge exchange aimed at strengthening Ghana’s tree crops value chain and enhancing the competitiveness of the industry.
Dr. Okrah further emphasised the importance of strong institutional partnerships in advancing efforts to transform the agricultural sector and unlock greater economic opportunities from tree crops.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to exploring practical areas of collaboration between the TCDA and KNUST, with the ultimate objective of using research and innovation to drive sustainable growth and development in Ghana’s tree crops industry.
