COUNTER RESPONSE:NPP Concerned Youth in BAB Fires Back @ Alfred Obeng Boateng

CONCERNED NPP YOUTH – BIBIANI ANHWIASO BEKWAI CONSTITUENCY
OFFICIAL COUNTER-RESPONSE TO HON. ALFRED OBENG BOATENG’S STATEMENT ON PEACE FM

We, the Concerned NPP Youth of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency, wish to issue this official response to Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng’s recent remarks on Peace FM regarding our earlier press release. In that release, we held him personally accountable for the loss of our parliamentary seat to the NDC candidate, Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo, in the 2024 general elections.

In our press engagement, we laid out eight solid allegations against Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng—each grounded in truth, observed conduct, and widely known facts within the constituency. These are:

1. Breakdown in Party Unity – He had unresolved conflicts with almost all his constituency executives, including key figures such as the Chairman, Secretary, 1st Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Organizer, and several others.

2. Conflict with Traditional Leadership – He had tensions with respected traditional leaders, including the Omanhene of the Anhwiaso Traditional Council, Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II,v who also serves as the President of the National House of Chiefs.

3. Disrespect Toward Constituency Elders – He fell out with many prominent personalities in the constituency, including respected figures like Nana Korankye and his wife.

4. Monopoly Over Development Projects – He monopolized both central government and local government projects during his tenure, alienating other stakeholders and party leadership in the process.

5. Intimidation and Legal Action Against Party Members – He arrested and prosecuted some of his own party members simply because they criticized his leadership.

6. Diversion of Party Resources – He controlled and hoarded all party funds and logistics meant for the 2024 campaign, refusing to distribute them or account for their use.

7. Exclusion of Party Executives – He failed to inform or involve the constituency executives during his recent ‘Thank You Tour’ after the elections.

8. Refusal to Release Party Vehicle – The official campaign pick-up vehicle used for the 2024 elections remains in his custody, despite clear instructions from the National Secretary that all parliamentary candidates should release such vehicles to the Constituency Executive Committee.

On Peace FM, instead of responding directly to these serious and documented concerns, he evaded accountability and attempted to shift blame. His main defense was that he received more votes than the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. But this argument is both misleading and irrelevant.

There are multiple examples nationwide where NPP parliamentary candidates won in constituencies where the presidential candidate lost. This proves that effective, popular, and grassroots-connected candidates can triumph despite national challenges. Therefore, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng’s attempt to use presidential performance to justify his personal loss is unacceptable.

Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai has historically been one of the safest NPP seats. Losing it under his leadership is not just a setback—it is a loud indictment of his divisive style, lack of teamwork, and failure to inspire confidence. If he had built unity, respected party structures, and worked closely with the people, this loss would have been avoided.

To say that others also lost is not a justification, but a declaration of failure. Many other candidates won despite the odds, and they did so by demonstrating humility, competence, and strong leadership. If Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng identifies with those who lost, then he must also accept the fact that he was a poor and ineffective candidate.

Based on his record of conflict, arrogance, and exclusionary leadership, we strongly believe that if he is allowed to contest again, he will lose again. For the good of the New Patriotic Party and the people of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, we once again call on the National Executive Committee (NEC) to disqualify Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng from contesting in the 2028 parliamentary primaries or any future elections under the NPP ticket.

It is time for a new beginning—one marked by unity, humility, and grassroots leadership.
