EX-WNR NPP REGIONAL CHAIRMAN CONGRATULATES NEWLY ELECTED EXECUTIVES ● URGES UNITY FOR DR. BAWUMIA’S 2028 VICTORY

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western North Regional Chairman, Hon. Benjamin William Assuah, has congratulated Mr. Pius Abekah and all the newly elected regional executives following the just-ended regional elections, urging them to unite and work towards restoring the party’s fortunes in the region.

Hon. Assuah particularly congratulated Mr. Abekah on his election as Regional Chairman, describing the outcome as a fresh mandate that comes with the responsibility of bringing all sections of the party together. He wished the new leadership wisdom, humility, strength and success in the discharge of its duties.

He also commended all contestants, especially those who were unsuccessful, for their courage, sacrifices and commitment to the NPP. According to him, their participation demonstrated their dedication to the party and strengthened its internal democratic process.

Hon. Assuah stressed that the regional election must not become a source of bitterness, division or lasting resentment, insisting that the NPP is bigger than individual ambitions, positions and electoral contests. He called on all members to put the election behind them and focus on the broader interests of the party.

He appealed to contestants, delegates, executives, former executives, supporters and grassroots members to put their differences aside and work together to build a united, disciplined and formidable NPP in Western North.

He said the party’s ultimate objective must be to win the 2028 general elections for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and return the NPP to government. He noted that such an objective could only be achieved through unity, sacrifice, strategic organisation and a renewed commitment to the party at all levels.

Hon. Assuah further charged the party in Western North to intensify efforts to reclaim the parliamentary seats lost in previous elections and strengthen the NPP’s presence across the region. He called for closer collaboration among parliamentary candidates, constituency executives, electoral area coordinators, polling station executives and grassroots activists.

He particularly urged the grassroots not to allow personal disagreements, factional interests or leadership differences to weaken the party’s structures. He said rebuilding trust, listening to members and reconnecting with supporters would be critical to restoring confidence and creating the foundation for victory in 2028.

The former Regional Chairman also appealed to Mr. Abekah and the newly elected executives to extend a hand of fellowship to all contestants and make every member feel valued. He said effective leadership after an election should focus on reconciliation and bringing people together rather than celebrating victory over opponents.

Hon. Assuah expressed confidence that the NPP could make a strong comeback in Western North if members put the party first, unite the structures and mobilise effectively across all constituencies. He urged members to replace suspicion with trust, competition with collaboration and division with unity, declaring that the work towards victory in 2028 must begin immediately.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLY ELECTED NPP WESTERN NORTH REGIONAL EXECUTIVES — LET US UNITE FOR VICTORY IN 2028

I warmly congratulate Mr. Pius Abekah and all the winning candidates in the just-ended Western North Regional elections on their election to the various regional executive positions. I particularly congratulate Mr. Abekah on his election as the new Western North Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The election was competitive and hard-fought, and the outcome reflects the confidence delegates have reposed in the new leadership. I wish the new Regional Chairman and his team wisdom, strength, humility and success as they assume the responsibility of leading the party.

To all the contestants who took part in the election, particularly those who were unsuccessful, I commend you for your courage, commitment and sacrifices to the party. Contesting for a leadership position requires dedication, resources and personal conviction. Your participation has strengthened the democratic credentials of our great party, and your contributions must not be forgotten.5

As we congratulate the winners and acknowledge those who were unsuccessful, we must all remember that the NPP is bigger than any individual, position or contest. Internal elections are temporary, but the party remains our collective vehicle for pursuing the political and developmental ideals we believe in. The outcome must therefore not become a source of bitterness, division or lasting resentment.

The task before us now is to put the contest behind us and rebuild a united, disciplined and formidable party in Western North. I therefore appeal to all contestants, delegates, executives, former executives, supporters and members of the grassroots to put their differences aside and work together for the common good of the NPP.

Our ultimate objective must be clear: to win the 2028 general election for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and help the NPP return to government. That objective cannot be achieved if we remain divided among ourselves. It will require unity, sacrifice, humility, strategic thinking and a renewed commitment to the party at every level.

In Western North, we have an additional responsibility to reclaim the parliamentary seats we lost and strengthen the party’s fortunes across the region. This will require all hands on deck. Our parliamentary candidates, constituency executives, electoral area coordinators, polling station executives, grassroots activists and sympathisers must work together as one united team.

I particularly appeal to the grassroots, who remain the backbone of the NPP, not to allow personal disagreements, factional interests or leadership differences to weaken the party. Let us reconnect with our members, listen to their concerns, rebuild trust and restore confidence in our structures. A united grassroots is the foundation upon which victory in 2028 will be built.

To the newly elected Regional Chairman, I offer my support and cooperation. Leadership is not about victory over one’s opponents; it is about bringing people together after the contest and giving everyone a sense of belonging. I encourage the new leadership to extend a hand of fellowship to all contestants and ensure that every member feels valued in the collective effort ahead.

To my fellow party members, I say there is no room for grudges. We may have supported different candidates during the regional elections, but we remain members of the same NPP family. The time has come to replace competition with collaboration, suspicion with trust, and division with unity. What unites us must be greater than what separates us.

Let us therefore close the chapter on the regional election and focus on the bigger mission ahead. If we put the party first, unite our structures, mobilise the grassroots and work tirelessly across every constituency, I believe the NPP can make a strong comeback in Western North and contribute significantly to the election of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President in 2028.

The work starts now, and it requires all of us.

Congratulations once again to the new Regional Chairman, Mr. Pius Abekah, and all the newly elected regional executives. To all contestants, especially those who were unsuccessful, your service and commitment to the NPP remain valuable. Let us unite, rebuild and reclaim our political strength for the NPP and victory in 2028.

Signed:
Hon. Benjamin William Assuah
Former NPP Western North Regional Chairman
