The Member of Parliament for the Bodi Constituency in the Western North Region, Hon. Sampson Ahi, has donated hospital equipment worth GH¢300,000 to the Bodi District Health Directorate to strengthen healthcare delivery in the district.
The donation, funded from the MP’s Health Insurance Fund, includes laptops, glucometers, kidney dishes, direct ophthalmoscopes, hematology analysers, blood roller mixers, lab timers, fridge thermometers, as well as hospital beds, delivery beds, blood pressure monitors, weighing scales, sterilizers, examination couches, and assorted medical consumables for use at health centres and CHPS compounds across the district.
Presenting the items, Hon. Ahi said the support forms part of his commitment to improving health infrastructure and ensuring that residents receive quality care closer to home.
“Health remains a top priority for me. This donation is to equip our facilities so our health workers can serve the people of Bodi better, improve diagnosis, and reduce referrals outside the district,” he said.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Directorate, the Bodi District Director of Health Services, Mr. Paul Noah Quarm, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for the gesture.
“On behalf of management and staff, I want to thank Hon. Sampson Ahi sincerely. This is a timely and massive support. The hematology analyser, glucometers, and lab equipment will improve our diagnostic capacity, while the beds and other items will directly enhance patient care. We are truly grateful,” Mr. Quarm stated.
He added that the equipment would be distributed immediately to facilities with the greatest need to ensure maximum impact.
Management and staff of the Health Directorate also commended the MP, describing the donation as one of the biggest single supports to healthcare delivery in the district in recent years.
Hon. Ahi reaffirmed his commitment to continuing to invest in health, education, and infrastructure to improve the lives of his constituents.
