Apostle Anthony Manu, founder and leader of the Church of Divine Heart in Nkoranza, Bono East Region, has described President John Dramani Mahama’s victory in the 2024 presidential election as a divine intervention. Mahama secured 56.55% of the total valid votes cast, surpassing his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who garnered 41.61% of the votes.
According to Apostle Manu, Mahama’s victory represents a significant achievement of his past and his Godly life, ordained by God to secure such an unimaginable win. Apostle Manu made these statements on Fabea FM’s “Me Man Ho Dadwen” with Apiah-Kubi, in an exclusive interview.
Apostle Manu emphasized that Mahama’s success further solidifies his mandate as he prepares to assume the presidency once again. He noted that when Mahama continues his involvement with the clergy or religious bodies, he can intentionally address the country’s challenges. “I believe the president has recognized his mistakes in his past governance, and I hope he will do better for the country,” Apostle Manu stated.
- Regarding the national cathedral, Apostle Manu called for a thorough investigation into the use of state funds for its construction, citing financial losses to the state. The national cathedral project has been a topic of debate, with concerns over its funding and construction. Initially planned to be completed by June 2024, the project has faced significant delays and cost overruns, with an estimated $58 million already spent and a further $450 million required to complete it.
Apostle Manu added that Ghana does not need a cathedral at this time and warned that God’s wrath will be upon former President Nana Akuffo Addo, stating that he has betrayed and deceived God. “I am expecting that John Mahama will conduct an investigation on the leaders of the cathedral and retrieve all the pecuniary misuses. Ghana does not need any cathedral in this period,” Apostle Manu concluded.
