Former Vice Chairman of NPP China and philanthropist based in the Ahafo Region, Nana Moses, has cautioned delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prioritize their safety ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ahafo Bechem-based After2 Radio, Nana Moses urged delegates across the country not to risk their lives travelling long distances to meet aspirants, noting that such actions often lead to unnecessary accidents and tragedies.
According to him, as the party prepares for its crucial presidential primary on January 31, 2026, it is important for delegates to remain disciplined, united, and focused on the greater goal of maintaining the NPP’s strength and tradition.
“The dedication and loyalty of our delegates have kept the NPP strong and grounded over the years. You are the backbone of our great party, and your voices determine the future leadership of the NPP,” he stated.
However, Nana Moses advised that delegates should avoid travelling outside their respective regions to meet presidential aspirants. He stressed that every candidate who truly respects the delegates should rather make the effort to visit them where they are.
“Do not travel outside your region to meet presidential aspirants. Let those who seek your vote value your time, respect your safety, and come to you. Your life is far more important than any political engagement,” he cautioned.
He expressed concern about the increasing number of road accidents involving party faithful during political seasons, lamenting that when such tragedies occur, families of the victims are often left without support or recognition.
“When tragedy strikes, no one comes to care for your children or family. The truth is painful but necessary — protect your life, because the party needs you alive,” Nana Moses emphasized.
He further reminded delegates that the power of their vote is not defined by how far they travel to meet aspirants but by their integrity and sense of responsibility. “Your vote matters, and its power is not determined by distance. Those who truly value you will find their way to you,” he added.
Nana Moses concluded by calling for unity and discipline within the NPP as the primaries draw closer, urging all members to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the party’s democratic image and ensures the safety and dignity of every delegate.
