FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mobile Money Advocacy Group Ghana (MoMAG) Congratulates Hon. Samuel Nartey George on His Appointment as Minister for Communication and Digitalization

Accra, Ghana, February 7, 2025

The Mobile Money Advocacy Group Ghana (MoMAG) extends its warmest congratulations to Hon. Samuel Nartey George on his appointment as Minister for Communication and Digitalization. We say “Ayeckoo” to him once again and express our readiness to work collaboratively with him and his ministry to promote the growth and development of Ghana’s mobile money ecosystem.

We have been following Hon. George’s journey closely, particularly during his vetting process, where he emphasized the importance of proper re-registration. Recently, he reiterated this commitment in parliament, outlining his vision for the way forward. We are pleased to note that our organization shares similar concerns regarding the existing registration procedures, having identified several loopholes and flaws that require attention.

As Hon. George begins his tenure, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting his ministry’s efforts to address these challenges and promote a more robust and efficient digital ecosystem. We look forward to engaging in constructive dialogue and collaborating on initiatives that drive growth, innovation, and inclusivity in Ghana’s communication and digitalization sector.

Once again, we congratulate Hon. Samuel Nartey George on his appointment and wish him success in his new role.

Thank you.
