As part of his campaign tour of the Bono East Region, Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia made a significant stop at Nkoranza, where he addressed a large gathering of enthusiastic supporters. Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, took the opportunity to highlight some of the key achievements of his tenure as Vice President and the NPP government.

In his speech, he proudly referenced the government’s strides in economic management, infrastructure development, and digital transformation, which have contributed to improving the livelihoods of many Ghanaians. He emphasized the NPP’s success in stabilizing the economy, implementing social interventions like the Free Senior High School policy, and modernizing Ghana’s public service through digitalization.

Looking towards the future, Dr. Bawumia laid out several ambitious plans he intends to implement if elected President. Among these is his vision to reduce electricity tariffs for Ghanaians by introducing solar systems, which would provide cheaper and more sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, he promised to offer free tertiary education for Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD), ensuring that no one is left behind in Ghana’s pursuit of education. He also pledged to further intensify the digitalization of the economy, making government services more accessible, efficient, and transparent. Dr. Bawumia also reaffirmed his commitment to women’s empowerment, emphasizing the critical role women play in nation-building and his plan to enhance their involvement in decision-making processes.

In a strategic move to unify the NPP’s front in Nkoranza, Dr. Bawumia endorsed Harriet Kyeremanteng Oppong, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Nkoranza South. He commended her efforts in improving the lives of people in the constituency and assured the electorate that Harriet, alongside his presidency, would bring further development to Nkoranza. Dr. Bawumia passionately appealed to the people to vote for both him and Harriet Kyeremanteng Oppong in the upcoming December 7 elections, stressing that this dual victory would ensure continued progress and transformation in Nkoranza and Ghana as a whole.

Dr. Bawumia’s visit to Nkoranza is part of the NPP’s efforts to connect with local communities and share its vision for Ghana’s future. By endorsing Harriet Kyeremanteng Oppong, he highlighted the importance of unity within the party and urged the people of Nkoranza to support her in the parliamentary race. He emphasized that voting for both himself as President and Harriet as their Member of Parliament would bring more development and progress to Nkoranza and Ghana as a whole.
