As part of his campaign tour of the Bono East Region, Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia made a significant stop at Nkoranza, where he addressed a large gathering of enthusiastic supporters. Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, took the opportunity to highlight some of the key achievements of his tenure as Vice President and the NPP government.

Looking towards the future, Dr. Bawumia laid out several ambitious plans he intends to implement if elected President. Among these is his vision to reduce electricity tariffs for Ghanaians by introducing solar systems, which would provide cheaper and more sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, he promised to offer free tertiary education for Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD), ensuring that no one is left behind in Ghana’s pursuit of education. He also pledged to further intensify the digitalization of the economy, making government services more accessible, efficient, and transparent. Dr. Bawumia also reaffirmed his commitment to women’s empowerment, emphasizing the critical role women play in nation-building and his plan to enhance their involvement in decision-making processes.
In a strategic move to unify the NPP’s front in Nkoranza, Dr. Bawumia endorsed Harriet Kyeremanteng Oppong, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Nkoranza South. He commended her efforts in improving the lives of people in the constituency and assured the electorate that Harriet, alongside his presidency, would bring further development to Nkoranza. Dr. Bawumia passionately appealed to the people to vote for both him and Harriet Kyeremanteng Oppong in the upcoming December 7 elections, stressing that this dual victory would ensure continued progress and transformation in Nkoranza and Ghana as a whole.
