After making our intentions known to the public, the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) has called for further engagement in the coming days. This is especially significant since the Minister of Transport is yet to assume office. The Alliance Drivers of Ghana have agreed to wait and meet with him to gather his input, as has always been the practice.
We have trust in the government and hope that our concerns will be heard. We are optimistic that our engagement with the Minister will yield positive results. We believes that by working together, we can find solutions that benefit both the drivers and the government.
We are committed to collaborating with the Minister and all stakeholders in the transport sector to find solutions that benefit drivers. Our goal is to work together to address the challenges facing the industry. By doing so, we aim to create a more conducive environment for drivers to operate effectively.
We as driver’s union are eager to find common ground with the government and we are willing to work together to find mutually beneficial solutions. We are confident that our collective efforts will lead to a better future for drivers in Ghana.
In a related development, the Alliances Drivers Association issued a statement yesterday regarding the gradual increment in fuel prices and spare parts. Initially, the association had called for a fare increase, but they have since rescinded this call due to the proper engagement with the GRTCC.
The association’s decision to rescind their call for a fare increase demonstrates their commitment to finding solutions through dialogue.
As we move forward, we are optimistic that our collective efforts will lead to positive outcomes for the transport sector. We are committed to working tirelessly to address the challenges facing drivers and to find solutions that benefit everyone involved.
