SEBASTIAN OBENG TAKES CHARGE: Nominated As MCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai

Mr. Sebastian Obeng, a distinguished educator and dedicated leader, has been nominated by President John Mahama as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, pending approval from assembly members.

Obeng’s journey to this nomination is a testament to his commitment to education, leadership, and community development. Born on September 16, 1980, in Muoho, small town near Sefwi Bekwai, Obeng began his educational journey at CORSA Preparatory and Junior High School.

He later attended Bibiani Technical Secondary School, where he specialized in business studies, graduating in 2000. Obeng’s passion for education led him to pursue teacher training at Sefwi Wiawso College of Education, earning his Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ in 2005. He later joined University of Education, Mampong Campus where he graduated in 2015 with Bachelor of science degree in Agriculture.

Obeng’s professional career in education has been marked by his dedication to molding the next generation of leaders. He currently serves as a tutor at Sefwi Wiawso Senior High Technical School, imparting knowledge and mentoring students .

In addition to his educational pursuits, Obeng has established himself as a dynamic leader and political strategist within the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His contributions have been pivotal in shaping the political landscape of the Western North Region.

Obeng’s leadership roles within the NDC include serving as the Regional Deputy Director of Elections, Western North Regional Coordinator for the Teachers Forum, and Regional Organizer for the NDC Teachers Forum.

As the nominated MCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Obeng brings a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and politics. His commitment to community development and his vision for the municipality make him an ideal candidate for the position.
