The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nkoranza North, Hon. Effah Patrick, has convened a stakeholders’ meeting to deliberate on the district’s 2026 medium-term development plan.
The meeting brought together community leaders, organizations, and residents to assess development progress, gather input, and refine strategies to ensure the plan truly reflects the needs and aspirations of the people.
According to Hon. Effah Patrick, the engagement is crucial to achieving sustainable development and aligns with the Assembly’s commitment to transparency and inclusive governance.
Speaking in an interview with the press, the DCE revealed that the previous government’s development plan for the district fell short of its objectives due to inadequate implementation and poor resource allocation.
He emphasized that such engagements form part of the District Assembly’s core mandate to involve citizens in shaping the direction of local governance and community development.
The DCE further highlighted key concerns raised by residents, including the need for improved town roads, water extension projects, quality healthcare, enhanced educational infrastructure, livelihood empowerment, and strengthened security measures.
Hon. Effah Patrick noted that the success of the district’s development agenda would depend on collective participation and shared responsibility among all stakeholders.
He lamented that the previous administration failed to release the required Common Fund to the Assembly for its intended developmental purposes, which affected project execution and service delivery.
Despite the challenges, Hon. Effah Patrick expressed optimism that under the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Ghana’s development will be reset and revitalized, with Nkoranza North benefiting fully from the renewed national agenda.
As part of the day’s activities, Hon. Effah Patrick, in collaboration with the Nkoranza North District Assembly’s Environmental Department and the District Education Service, distributed free sanitary pads and other hygiene items to schools in the Busunya and Kranka circuits of the district.
