WONTUMI’S SENTENCE MUST STRENGTHEN, NOT DIVIDE NPP – Ho West Communication Officer

The Communication Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ho West Constituency, Constance Kwame Agbedienu, has urged party members to remain steadfast and united following the reported sentencing of the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

According to him, although the development has left many party supporters saddened and concerned, it should not weaken the resolve of the NPP but rather inspire members to work harder towards the party’s political future.

In a statement, Mr. Agbedienu said many members believe the punishment imposed on Chairman Wontumi is unduly severe but stressed that the party must continue to respect the rule of law and the country’s judicial process.

He encouraged party faithful to support every lawful avenue available to Chairman Wontumi while remaining committed to the democratic values the NPP has consistently championed.

Mr. Agbedienu noted that the NPP has endured several political setbacks throughout its history but has always emerged stronger through unity, discipline, resilience, and hard work.

He, therefore, called on party executives and supporters at every polling station, electoral area, constituency, and regional level to intensify engagement with the electorate and vigorously promote the NPP’s achievements and vision for Ghana.

The Ho West Communication Officer further stated that the journey towards the 2028 general election had already begun, emphasizing that every member has a responsibility to contribute to the party’s rebuilding efforts.

He maintained that victory in the next general election would depend not on sympathy but on sacrifice, unity, discipline, effective organization, and relentless hard work under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr. Agbedienu concluded by expressing confidence that the current challenge could become a rallying point for the NPP, saying the party would be well-positioned for victory in 2028 if members remained united, focused, and committed to its ideals.

ADVERSITY SHOULD STRENGTHEN OUR RESOLVE, NOT BREAK OUR SPIRIT

The reported sentencing of our Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), has understandably left many members of the New Patriotic Party saddened and concerned. Across the party, many believe the punishment is unduly severe. However, as patriots who believe in the rule of law, we must continue to respect the judicial process while supporting every lawful avenue available to him.

This moment should not discourage us. Rather, it should strengthen our determination and reinforce the resilience that has always defined the NPP. Throughout our history, our party has faced difficult moments, yet we have consistently emerged stronger through unity, discipline, and hard work.

Our greatest response to this setback is not anger or division. It is organization, effective communication, and an unwavering commitment to reconnecting with the Ghanaian people. Every polling station, every electoral area, every constituency, and every region must become more active than ever before.

As party faithful, let us channel our emotions into constructive political action. Let us intensify grassroots engagement, defend our record with facts, present our vision for Ghana, and work tirelessly to earn the confidence of the electorate once again.

The road to Election 2028 begins now. Every member has a role to play in ensuring that the New Patriotic Party returns to government under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Victory will not come through sympathy alone; it will come through sacrifice, unity, discipline, and relentless hard work.

Let this challenging period become a rallying point for the NPP family. History has shown that strong parties are often forged in difficult times. If we remain united, focused, and committed to our ideals, we can transform today’s disappointment into tomorrow’s victory.

Forward Ever!

Long Live the New Patriotic Party!

Forward with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Victory 2028!
