TCDA BOSS ENGAGES ASHANTI MINISTER ON TREE CROPS DEVELOPMENT-SEEKS SUPPORT TO BOOST FARMERS’ LIVELIHOODS

The Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), Hon. Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, has called for stronger collaboration with the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council to accelerate the development of the tree crops sector.

Dr. Okrah made the appeal when he paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, as part of his official working visit to the Ashanti Region.

The visit provided an opportunity for the TCDA Chief Executive to express the Authority’s appreciation to the Regional Minister and the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council for their valuable support towards the successful launch of TCDA’s Agricultural Inputs Distribution Programme for tree crop farmers in Mampong.

The programme forms part of the Authority’s efforts to provide practical support to farmers and strengthen tree crop production across the country.

Dr. Okrah commended the Regional Minister and other stakeholders for their cooperation and support, noting that such partnerships were essential to achieving sustainable growth in the tree crops sector.

He appealed for continued support and collaboration from the Regional Coordinating Council and other stakeholders to enable the TCDA to effectively implement its programmes and initiatives in the region.

According to him, stronger institutional collaboration would help improve farmer support, enhance productivity, and create better opportunities for people whose livelihoods depend on tree crop farming.

The TCDA CEO further stressed the importance of promoting sustainable tree crop production as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector and improve the economic well-being of farming communities.

He expressed the Authority’s commitment to deepening its engagement with regional and local stakeholders to address challenges confronting tree crop farmers and ensure that they receive the necessary support to expand their operations.

Dr. Okrah said the TCDA would continue to work closely with relevant stakeholders to promote sustainable production, empower farmers, improve livelihoods, and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s agricultural development.
