Aspiring Shama NDC Communication Officer outlines vision to unite party, empower youth and make communication more responsive
Mr. Isaac Kwame Amoah, Deputy Communication Officer of the Shama Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared his readiness to lead the party’s communication team with passion, commitment and a clear vision for a stronger, more united and responsive NDC in the constituency.
Mr. Amoah, who is seeking the substantive Communication Officer position, is appealing to delegates to entrust him with the mandate to build a communication structure that will effectively project the achievements of the NDC, defend the party’s values and create stronger engagement between the party, its grassroots and the people of Shama.
According to him, his ambition is not simply to occupy a position but to use the office as a platform to serve the party, strengthen its communication machinery and contribute meaningfully to the development of the constituency.
He said his vision is anchored on effective communication, grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment, accountability, unity and service to the party.
A Communication Office That Works for the Grassroots
Mr. Amoah believes the Communication Officer must be accessible to the grassroots and responsive to the concerns of party members.
He said, if given the mandate, his administration would work closely with constituency executives, branch executives, polling station executives, youth groups, women’s groups and other party stakeholders to ensure that information flows effectively from the grassroots to the constituency leadership and vice versa.
He stressed that communication should not only be activated during elections but must remain active throughout the party’s political and organisational activities.
“We need a communication team that listens, responds and works for the grassroots. Communication must not be one-sided. We must hear our people, understand their concerns and make sure their voices are properly represented,” he said.
Appointees Must Answer the Calls of the Grassroots
A key component of Mr. Amoah’s vision is stronger engagement between government appointees and the grassroots of the party.
He said government appointees have a responsibility to remain accessible to party members and must not ignore calls from grassroots supporters who worked tirelessly for the party’s electoral success.
According to him, party members and grassroots activists should be treated with respect and must have avenues to communicate their concerns to government representatives and appointees.
He therefore called on government appointees to answer the calls of the grassroots, listen to their concerns and maintain regular engagement with the people.
Mr. Amoah said a responsive relationship between appointees and the grassroots would strengthen confidence in the government and prevent unnecessary frustrations among party members.
Youth Empowerment at the Centre of His Vision
Mr. Amoah has also placed youth empowerment at the centre of his vision for the Shama NDC.
He believes political leadership must go beyond mobilising young people for campaigns and elections and must create opportunities for them to acquire practical skills that can improve their livelihoods.
As a professional with expertise that can be used to train and mentor young people, Mr. Amoah said he intends to use his professional knowledge and resources to support youth development.
He said his commitment to youth empowerment is not merely a political promise, pointing to his philanthropic activities and willingness to personally contribute to the development of young people.
He intends to support initiatives that will expose young people to vocational, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities, while encouraging them to become self-reliant.
A Philanthropist Committed to Service
Mr. Amoah’s campaign also highlights his record of philanthropy and community service.
He said leadership, in his view, must be measured not only by titles but by the positive impact one makes in the lives of others.
He believes his experience in supporting people and contributing to community development gives him a practical understanding of the needs of ordinary party members and young people.
He has therefore pledged to bring the same spirit of service and generosity to the Communication Officer position if elected.
A Voice for the Party and the People
Mr. Amoah further believes that the Shama NDC needs a strong and disciplined communication structure capable of effectively communicating government policies and achievements while responding quickly to misinformation and attacks against the party.
He said the constituency communication team must be equipped with the necessary skills and resources to engage both traditional and digital media platforms.
He also wants greater collaboration among communicators at the branch and constituency levels to ensure that the party speaks with clarity and consistency.
According to him, communication must be strategic, factual and respectful while remaining firm in defending the party and its government.
Unity Before Personal Interest
Mr. Amoah has also appealed to delegates and party members to prioritise unity and the collective interest of the NDC.
He said the constituency cannot make meaningful progress if internal differences and personal ambitions are allowed to divide members.
He pledged that, if elected, he would work with all stakeholders regardless of their individual affiliations or differences during the internal contest.
“My interest is the NDC and the development of Shama. I am coming to serve, not to create divisions. After the election, we must all come together and work for the success of the party,” he said.
A Call to Delegates
Mr. Amoah is therefore appealing to delegates to consider his vision, experience, commitment and record of service when making their choice.
He said delegates deserve a Communication Officer who will be available, accessible, hardworking and committed to the interests of the grassroots.
He believes his combination of political experience, professional capacity, philanthropic activities and commitment to youth development makes him capable of providing the leadership the Shama NDC communication team needs.
He has consequently urged delegates to give him the opportunity to serve as the substantive Communication Officer of the Shama Constituency NDC.
“I am ready to serve with passion and commitment. I am ready to work with the grassroots, support our youth, engage our appointees and help build a stronger communication structure for the Shama NDC. I am asking the delegates for their trust and their mandate,” Mr. Amoah said.
