The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bia West, Hon. Mathew Annor has successfully led a large-scale clean-up exercise across the district, mobilizing residents, traditional leaders, market women, students, lecturers, and clergy to take part in creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

The exercise, which took place in both Debiso and Essam Townships, saw massive participation from various segments of the community. Residents turned out in large numbers, demonstrating their commitment to improving sanitation and environmental health.
Speaking during the event, the DCE emphasized the importance of collective action in maintaining a clean environment. “A clean environment is essential for the overall well-being of our people. Together, we can make Bia West a healthier place for everyone,” he said.

The DCE praised the active participation of stakeholders, saying their contributions fostered a sense of social responsibility and community spirit. He highlighted the role of traditional rulers, market women, students, and religious leaders in ensuring the success of the clean-up exercise.

Residents expressed satisfaction with the initiative, noting that visible changes in the streets, markets, and public spaces have made the district more appealing. Many agreed that regular clean-up exercises would improve public health and create a more pleasant environment for residents and visitors alike.

The DCE also commended his team at the District Assembly for their dedication and hard work in organizing the exercise. He noted that government support combined with community involvement was critical to achieving meaningful results.
