BIA WEST DCE, MP CELEBRATE 37 NEW FIRE & POLICE ASSISTANTS

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bia West, Hon. Mathew Annor, joined by the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Mustapha Tanko Amadu has commended 37 newly recruited Community Fire Assistants and Community Police Assistants for successfully completing their training under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

The colourful passing-out parade, held over the weekend, attracted chiefs, opinion leaders, families, and residents who turned out in their numbers to support the new recruits.

In total, 14 Community Fire Assistants and 23 Community Police Assistants completed the program and marched proudly during the parade, demonstrating discipline and readiness to serve.

Addressing the ceremony, Hon. Annor praised the recruits for their dedication and resilience throughout the training period. He described their graduation as a significant step in strengthening community safety.

He assured them of the District Assembly’s support, pledging that local authorities would stand firmly behind the personnel as they begin their new duties.

Hon. Mustapha Tanko Amadu, who joined the DCE at the event, also commended the recruits and encouraged them to serve with integrity and loyalty. He said their contribution would ease the burden on security agencies while fostering peace in the district.

The joint presence of the DCE and the MP at the ceremony was noted by community leaders as a strong sign of unity and commitment to youth development.

Both leaders highlighted the importance of the YEA initiative, stressing that it provides employment opportunities while addressing critical community needs such as crime prevention and fire safety.

I had the privilege of joining Hon. Mustapha Tanko Amadu, my esteemed Member of Parliament, in a short parade celebrating the successful completion of training by the newly recruited Community Fire Assistants and Community Police Assistants. The ceremony, organized by the Youth Employment Agency, was a momentous occasion that showcased the dedication and hard work of these young individuals.
