Accra, Saturday, October 18, 2025 —
The Presidential Candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga, has reaffirmed his firm commitment to peace, unity, and the rule of law, calling on all state institutions to act swiftly to preserve Ghana’s hard-won stability.
Addressing journalists at a press conference in Accra, Dr. Ayariga said his recent decision, which drew national attention, was taken in the broader interest of peace and tranquility, emphasizing that the safety and welfare of Ghanaians remain his top priority.
According to him, leadership must always prioritize national stability over political ambition. “I have chosen peace over violence because Ghana’s unity is more important than any personal or political gain,” he declared.
Dr. Ayariga noted that Ghana has long been admired for its peaceful democracy and that no responsible leader should take actions that could compromise that legacy. He said his approach to addressing national challenges would continue to be lawful, peaceful, and constitutionally guided.
He assured his supporters that the pursuit of justice and fairness would not end but would be channeled through legitimate means. “We will hold institutions accountable, but always within the confines of the Constitution. That is how true democracy works,” he added.
The APC leader also urged state institutions responsible for maintaining public order and justice to act diligently, warning that delayed justice often breeds frustration and tension among citizens. “When justice is delayed, uncertainty grows, and that can destabilize a nation,” he cautioned.
Dr. Ayariga appealed to the youth, whom he described as the heartbeat of Ghana’s democracy, to remain calm and law-abiding. He praised them for their patriotism, discipline, and resilience, urging them to channel their energy toward building a peaceful and prosperous Ghana.
He further encouraged national leaders to act in good faith and ensure fairness in addressing the concerns of citizens. “We cannot ignore the grievances of the people and expect peace to prevail. Leadership demands responsiveness and accountability,” he stressed.
Dr. Ayariga reiterated that while he remains committed to pursuing justice, he would not support or endorse any act that threatens national cohesion. “Ghana’s peace is priceless, and I will protect it with every fiber of my being,” he affirmed.
Concluding his address, the APC flagbearer extended heartfelt appreciation to his supporters and all peace-loving Ghanaians. He prayed for continued stability, divine guidance, and unity across the nation, saying, “May God bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong.”
