The Ghana Association of Administrative Managers (GAAM) has commended the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) for their decision to call off the ongoing strike, describing it as a positive step toward maintaining industrial peace.
Speaking to the press, GAAM National President, Ackah Nelson Frank, lauded CLOGSAG for putting the national interest above individual grievances, emphasizing the importance of dialogue between workers and stakeholders.
Mr. Frank, who is also a local governance expert and Assembly Member for Asawinso A in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, urged government agencies and other relevant authorities to act promptly on the concerns raised by CLOGSAG.
According to him, the strike suspension demonstrates that constructive engagement can yield results, but he warned that the workers’ requests should not be ignored or delayed.
He called on stakeholders to implement practical solutions to ensure that the grievances that prompted the strike are addressed in a timely manner.
Mr. Frank emphasized that industrial harmony is crucial for public service delivery, noting that prolonged disputes can negatively impact citizens and national development.
He further stressed that GAAM remains committed to promoting dialogue and cooperation between labor unions and government agencies to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
Local residents and public service users, he noted, have expressed relief at the suspension of the strike, and he encouraged continued communication between all parties involved.
The GAAM president also highlighted the role of assembly members and local leaders in facilitating dialogue and ensuring that workers’ concerns are properly communicated to policymakers.
He concluded by urging both CLOGSAG and stakeholders to maintain constructive engagement, stressing that collaboration and swift action are key to sustaining public trust and service efficiency.
