The Bibiani- Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency Treasurer for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Charles Assuah, has clarified an earlier statement which depicts he said he was not going to vote for their Parliamentary Candidate (MP) Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng.
Mr. Assauh mentioned that, on the condition that the lawmaker doesn’t change how he operates. Adding, the statement has been twisted.
He explained that”, before, the second lady Samira Bawumia’s visit to the constituency some few days ago, Pious from Bekwai sent me a message, I was wondering why I wasn’t aware as a Constituency Treasurer, so few minutes time, Osei Koranteng sent me a message about the itinerary, few minutes time he again sent a message that, MP says the about seventeen constituency executives, patrons, council of elders and others should meet at his office. Which he said the place was too small to contain them, so he denied attending the meeting in MP’s office. So In an interview with Okyeame radio, I was asked, if I was going to attend to meeting, and I said no, because if the MP wanted us to be part, he should hold the meeting on neutral and more comfortable place than his office. I again said I won’t vote for Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng, if he continues doing that, I meant that day, and I said if…, because I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, so I have been misquoted”.
He emphasized,”, This is what I said and I won’t change my mouth anywhere. We all want peace in the Constituency, so my statement”.
He cautioned against publication of fake news, especially during this crucial season.
