HON. DOMINIC GYASI RECEIVES ‘ACCOUNTABILITY CHAMPION’ HONOUR AT BLACKSTAR AWARDS SUMMIT

Hon. Dominic Gyasi, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region, is set to be honoured at the prestigious Blackstar Acclamation Honorary Award Summit 2025/6 for his outstanding commitment to accountability and transparent governance.

The award, dubbed the “Accountability Champion Award Honour,” is in recognition of his exemplary leadership and dedication to promoting integrity in public administration, particularly in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.

According to an official letter of invitation issued by the World Diplomatic Federation (WODIF), Hon. Gyasi’s efforts in ensuring early signing of performance contracts and upholding transparency have set a benchmark within the Western North Region.

The organisers noted that his governance style has significantly contributed to local development and strengthened public confidence in leadership, positioning him as a model among his peers in municipal administration.

The award forms part of the Blackstar Acclamation Honorary Award Conference 2025/6, an international platform that recognises distinguished individuals and institutions for excellence in leadership, governance, and societal impact.

This year’s summit is themed “Rebuilding Trust, Restoring Hope: A New Era of Governance in Ghana,” with a focus on strengthening public institutions and celebrating progress under Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

The high-profile ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, and is expected to attract prominent personalities from government, academia, traditional leadership, and the international community.

Among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as Special Guest of Honour and the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, who will serve as Chairman.

Other notable figures billed for the event include Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru, Togbe Afede XIV, as well as a host of international speakers such as Prof. Joseph Tyler Cuddeford, Prof. Pauline Long, and Dr. Sangeeta Biswas.

Hon. Gyasi, upon receiving the honour, will be presented with a ceremonial gown, trophy, medal, badge, citation, and certificate, symbolising his contributions to advancing accountability and good governance in Ghana.
