KAAF TEIN HOLDS PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF LEADERSHIP ON FRIDAY:EMMANUEL KWAO ARKU TAKES THE THRONE AS PRESIDENT

The Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at KAAF University College will on Friday, November 7, 2025, hold a peaceful handing-over ceremony to officially transfer leadership from the outgoing president, Hamza Hafiz, to Emmanuel Kwao Arku, the newly appointed president of the association.

The ceremony, scheduled to take place at the KAAF University Auditorium, is expected to draw the presence of the Western Regional TEIN Coordinator, NDC party executives, members of the university community, and representatives from sister TEIN branches. It will mark a significant moment of continuity and renewal for the association.

The event forms part of TEIN’s broader vision to promote peaceful leadership transitions, discipline, and unity among its members while building a strong foundation for the NDC’s youth wing at the tertiary level.

Emmanuel Kwao Arku, who previously served as the Communication Officer of KAAF TEIN, has been elevated to the presidency in recognition of his hard work, dedication, and deep admiration for responsibility. His appointment has been widely welcomed by members who describe him as a committed and forward-thinking leader.

In an interview with the press ahead of the ceremony, Mr. Arku expressed his gratitude to the entire membership for the trust reposed in him and applauded the outgoing executives, led by Hamza Hafiz, for their exceptional dedication to duty and progress of the association.

“I sincerely applaud our outgoing leaders for their remarkable dedication and the solid foundation they have laid. Their hard work has inspired us all. I promise to lead by example, ensure that every member feels safe, respected, and heard, and that the association continues to meet the needs of its members,” he stated.

Mr. Arku further emphasized the importance of strengthening the NDC’s youth structures, urging the party to invest more in its student and youth movements. “The NDC fraternity must take proper care of its youth wing. If the youth wing is weak, the party becomes weak too,” he stressed.

He added that the national leadership of the NDC must create deliberate mentorship programmes for student leaders within TEIN across tertiary institutions. According to him, such mentorship would not only empower the next generation of political leaders but also ensure continuity, loyalty, and ideological discipline within the party’s structures.

He also pledged to enhance communication, teamwork, and welfare among members, assuring that his administration will work closely with regional and national TEIN bodies to achieve common goals.

The handing-over event will feature formal presentations, signing of transition documents, and the symbolic transfer of instruments of office to the incoming executives.

The ceremony will officially climax with the peaceful handing-over of power from Hamza Hafiz to Emmanuel Kwao Arku, marking the dawn of a new leadership era for KAAF TEIN and reaffirming the group’s commitment to responsible, visionary, and united student leadership.
