“ARREST OPIOID PEDDLERS NOW”- WENCHIKI PARAMOUNT CHIEF

Chief Abubakar Awufour, Paramount Chief of Wenchiki has sounded the alarm on the growing menace of opioid (“Red”) abuse in Ghana. He expressed deep concern about the devastating impact of these substances on the nation’s youth.

The chief lamented that the opioid epidemic is tearing apart the fabric of society, leaving families shattered and futures ruined. He cited increased crime rates, health problems, and a general breakdown in social values as evidence of the scourge.

Chief Abubakar Awufour’s call to action comes amid growing public outcry over the easy availability of opioids in the country. Many Ghanaians have expressed frustration with the seeming inability of law enforcement agencies to stem the tide of the illicit trade.

The chief’s appeal is not limited to the police alone; he is also urging parents, guardians, and community leaders across the country to join forces in the fight against opioid abuse. According to him, a collective effort is needed to educate the youth about the dangers of these substances and provide support for those struggling with addiction.

Chief Abubakar Awufour’s leadership on this issue is seen as a beacon of hope in the struggle against opioid abuse. His call for action has been welcomed by many Ghanaians, who are eager to see tangible results in the fight against the scourge.

He also seized the opportunity to applaud the government for its proactive measures against illegal mining activities in the country and appealed to all stakeholders to add their voices to the fight against both illegal mining and opioids.
