The Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, has paid a courtesy visit to the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Jakob Linulf, to discuss possible areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening Ghana’s shea value chain.

The meeting focused on sustainable industrial development and ways to improve livelihoods across the six tree crops under the Authority’s mandate, with particular emphasis on the shea industry, which plays a critical role in rural livelihoods, especially among women.
Dr. Osei Okrah commended Denmark for its longstanding partnership with Ghana and its commitment to promoting inclusive economic growth through sustainable development initiatives.

He outlined TCDA’s vision to transform the shea sector through value addition, innovation, and industrialisation, noting that the Authority is working towards positioning Ghana’s shea industry as a multi-billion-dollar economy by 2030.
The Danish Ambassador welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed Denmark’s interest in supporting initiatives that promote sustainability, industrial growth, and improved livelihoods within Ghana’s agricultural value chains.
Both parties expressed optimism about deepening cooperation to unlock the full potential of the shea industry and contribute to long-term economic development.
