The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie West, Hon. Prince Manu Moris, has emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
He made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to join forces with local assemblies and actively participate in monthly clean-up exercises across the country. According to him, this initiative will go a long way to improve sanitation and promote public health.
Hon. Prince Manu Moris made the call during a clean-up exercise held at Bonteso in the Amansie West District, where several residents and stakeholders took part in desilting gutters, sweeping streets, and clearing refuse dumps.
The DCE commended participants for their dedication and urged others to emulate their example, stressing that the success of environmental campaigns depends largely on community involvement.
He highlighted that poor sanitation contributes to diseases such as malaria and cholera, hence the need for everyone to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
Hon. Prince Manu Moris also noted that attitudinal change is critical in addressing Ghana’s sanitation challenges, calling on citizens to develop positive habits towards waste disposal and hygiene.
He assured the people of Amansie West that the District Assembly remains committed to implementing effective sanitation measures and supporting communities in maintaining cleanliness.
The DCE further encouraged residents to adopt a culture of regular clean-up activities, not only during national exercises but as part of their daily routine to ensure a sustainable and healthy environment.
Some of the participants expressed their satisfaction with the exercise and pledged their continued involvement in future clean-up campaigns to help build a cleaner community.
Hon. Prince Manu Moris reiterated his call for collective action, urging all Ghanaians to work hand in hand with local authorities to achieve a cleaner, safer, and healthier nation.
