NANA AKUA FOSUA SIKAFUTRO RALLIES SUPPORT FOR ATEBUBU a

The Nsumankwaa Hemaa of the Atebubu Traditional Area in the Bono East Region, Nana Akua Fosua Sikafutro, has called on the people of Atebubu and well-meaning Ghanaians to support efforts to accelerate development in the area as she marks her 10th anniversary on the stool with a series of community-focused programmes.

The anniversary celebration, which commenced on October 20, 2025, began with a health talk and community sensitisation activities and is expected to climax on November 8, 2025, with a grand durbar at Atebubu. The event will bring together traditional leaders, dignitaries, and citizens from across the country to honour the queen mother’s decade of leadership and service.

As part of the celebration, Nana Fosua Sikafutro has outlined several humanitarian initiatives, including free breast cancer screening and free surgical services for residents of Atebubu and its surrounding communities. These health projects, she said, are aimed at improving access to quality healthcare and creating awareness about preventable diseases, especially among women.

In an interview with Oyerepa FM and Promise News at her palace in Atebubu, the queen mother expressed deep appreciation to all who have supported her reign and reaffirmed her commitment to using her influence to drive development and promote women’s empowerment.

She observed that despite Atebubu’s rich potential in agriculture, trade, and human resources, the area continues to face major developmental challenges. She therefore appealed to natives of Atebubu, both at home and in the diaspora, as well as benevolent individuals and organisations, to contribute their quota towards sustainable projects in the area.

“Development is a shared duty, and no individual can do it alone. I am urging my people to unite and support this vision for a progressive Atebubu,” she emphasised.

According to Nana Fosua Sikafutro, funds raised during the anniversary celebration will be channelled into health improvement projects, girl-child education, and support for women in small-scale enterprises.

She further revealed plans to partner with corporate institutions and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to establish a community skills training centre to equip young people with employable skills and reduce unemployment in the area.

Many residents of Atebubu have hailed the queen mother’s initiative, describing it as a commendable effort to foster unity and development in the traditional area. They expressed optimism that her call will inspire greater collaboration among stakeholders.

The 10th anniversary of Nana Akua Fosua Sikafutro promises to be a memorable occasion, attracting traditional rulers, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the Bono East Region and beyond.
