The current Deputy Constituency Organiser for the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, Mr. Abdul Rasheed, is set to go unopposed in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) internal elections. Party sources indicate that his hard work and dedication to the party have earned him the confidence of members, paving the way for a seamless retention of his position.
In an exclusive interview with the press, Mr. Rasheed expressed his gratitude to the delegates and assured them of his commitment to maintaining his role. “I am humbled by the trust my colleagues have in me, and I pledge to continue working tirelessly for the growth of our constituency and the party,” he said.
Mr. Rasheed highlighted some of the challenges the constituency has faced over the years but emphasized that unity and collective effort have helped the NDC remain strong in the area. He noted that despite occasional setbacks, the party’s structures remain intact and ready to serve the people.
The Deputy Organiser also praised the initiatives of the John Mahama administration, particularly programmes aimed at youth development. He pointed to the National Youth Authority (NYA) and other youth-focused projects as examples of how government support has created opportunities for young people in the constituency.
According to Mr. Rasheed, these projects have given the youth hope and confidence for a better future. “The government’s efforts have provided avenues for skill acquisition, employment, and personal growth, which we must continue to build upon,” he added.
He used the opportunity to call on party delegates to support him when the time comes to vote. Mr. Rasheed emphasized that their votes would enable him to continue contributing effectively to the growth and development of the constituency.
“Our focus should always be on the development of our people. With the support of the delegates, I can help ensure that projects and initiatives continue to benefit the youth and the wider community,” he said.
Party insiders say Mr. Rasheed’s leadership style, accessibility, and commitment to grassroots development have made him a popular figure within the NDC. These qualities are seen as key reasons why no other candidate has emerged to challenge him for the Deputy Organiser position.
As the NDC gears up for the internal elections, many members are optimistic that Mr. Rasheed’s unopposed candidature will strengthen the party’s cohesion in Atwima Nwabiagya South. His continued leadership is expected to provide stability and strategic direction for the constituency ahead of the general elections.
Mr. Rasheed concluded by reiterating his dedication to serving the party and the people of Atwima Nwabiagya South. He urged delegates to participate actively in the elections and continue supporting initiatives that empower the youth and foster development across the constituency.
