The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Amenfi West Constituency has appealed to party delegates to retain him in office, insisting that his experience, competence and commitment make him the best candidate to continue steering the affairs of the party in the constituency.
Addressing party members and supporters during an interaction with delegates, the chairman expressed confidence in his leadership record and highlighted what he described as significant achievements during his tenure. According to him, the progress made by the party in the constituency did not happen by chance but through hard work, unity and strategic leadership.
He noted that leadership continuity was crucial for the party’s growth and preparations towards future elections. He argued that changing leadership at a critical moment could disrupt ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the party’s structures and mobilising supporters across the constituency.
The chairman stated that he possesses the necessary experience to guide the party through the challenges ahead, especially as the NPP seeks to reposition itself and regain political momentum. He stressed that his years of service have equipped him with the knowledge and skills needed to unite members and drive the party forward.
According to him, the constituency has witnessed remarkable improvements in party organisation under his leadership. He cited enhanced grassroots mobilisation, increased engagement with polling station executives and strengthened relationships among party faithful as some of his accomplishments.
He further assured delegates that if given another mandate, he would work tirelessly to expand the party’s support base and ensure that every member feels valued and included in decision-making processes. He pledged to intensify efforts to reconnect with the grassroots and address concerns raised by party members.
The chairman also called on party supporters to remain united and avoid divisions that could weaken the party’s chances in future elections. He stressed that unity remains the party’s greatest asset and urged members to place the collective interest of the NPP above personal ambitions.
He acknowledged that leadership contests are a normal part of democratic politics but emphasized the need for campaigns to be conducted peacefully and respectfully. He encouraged aspirants and their supporters to focus on issues and avoid actions that could create unnecessary tension within the party.
Several delegates who attended the gathering praised the chairman for his accessibility and commitment to the party. They expressed appreciation for his efforts in maintaining party cohesion and strengthening the constituency’s political structures over the years.
As the constituency prepares for its internal elections, political observers believe the chairman’s appeal to delegates could shape the contest significantly. With the race expected to be keenly contested, delegates will ultimately decide whether to grant him another term or chart a new course for the leadership of the party in Amenfi West.
