EMBRACE CONTINUITY, COMPLETE SEFWI WIAWSO MARKET – ALHAJI ABDUL RAHMAN HALIDU

Alhaji Abdul Rahman Halidu, Coordinator to the Western North Regional Chief Imam, has appealed to the government to ensure the completion of the Sefwi Wiawso Market, stressing that continuity in development projects is critical for the community’s growth and prosperity.

In an interview with the press, Alhaji Halidu commended the government for introducing the Arabic Teachers Module, describing it as a timely initiative that will boost Islamic teachings and education across the region. “This program will empower our youth and strengthen Islamic learning in our schools,” he said.

He emphasized that the Sefwi Wiawso Market is more than just a trading hub; it is a symbol of progress and a source of livelihood for residents. “A completed market will not only facilitate commerce but also enhance the quality of life in our community,” he added.

Alhaji Halidu applauded the government for its ongoing development projects in the Western North Region but urged that the Sefwi Wiawso Market project, which began under the previous administration, be carried through to completion. “Continuity is crucial. The people started this journey with the last government, and they deserve to see it finished,” he noted.

He highlighted that completing the market will create employment opportunities for traders, artisans, and support staff, injecting economic activity into the area and providing long-term benefits to the community.

The Coordinator further stressed that revenue from a fully functional market could support education, Islamic institutions, and other local initiatives. “This is not just a market; it is an investment in our youth, our faith, and the future of Sefwi Wiawso,” he said.

He applauded the government for the introduction of the Arabic Teachers Module, emphasizing that it provides opportunities for all Muslims and Ghana as a whole. “This initiative ensures that our youth and communities can participate fully in Islamic education and contribute meaningfully to society,” he added.

Alhaji Halidu noted that the module will also create employment for the youth and urged them to embrace the opportunity to enhance themselves through the program. “Our young people must seize this chance to gain skills, improve their livelihoods, and strengthen Islamic knowledge across the nation,” he said.

In conclusion, Alhaji Halidu reaffirmed his appeal to the government, insisting on timely action to complete the Sefwi Wiawso Market. “The people of Sefwi Wiawso deserve a fully operational market. Let the government act without delay to ensure development, prosperity, and continuity in our region,” he concluded.
