HON. WILLIAM BENJAMIN ASSUAH ENDORSES BOAKYE AGYARKO’S NPP NATIONAL CHAIRMANSHIP BID-Says his seasoned leadership and experience will propel the party to victory

Former Western North Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. William Benjamin Assuah, has thrown his support behind the candidature of Boakye Agyarko in the race for the position of National Chairman of the party.

According to Hon. Assuah, Mr. Agyarko possesses the experience, leadership qualities and political maturity required to reposition the NPP and lead it back to electoral victory. He believes his extensive experience places him among the strongest contenders for the position.

Hon. Assuah said one of the major qualities that distinguishes Mr. Agyarko is his ability to serve as a bridge between the old and new members and officials of the NPP. He argued that the party needs a leader capable of bringing together its various generations and factions to work towards a common objective.

He further highlighted Mr. Agyarko’s experience as a former Campaign Manager for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, saying the role exposed him to the complexities of political organisation, campaign management and grassroots mobilisation.

Hon. Assuah described Mr. Agyarko as one of the founding and committed members of the NPP who contributed significantly to the growth and development of the party. He said such historical experience gives him a deep understanding of the party’s struggles, values and aspirations.

According to him, Mr. Agyarko has the capacity to reconnect with inactive party members and encourage them to return to active participation. He believes bringing these members back into the party’s activities will be critical to rebuilding its grassroots strength.

Hon. Assuah also expressed confidence that Mr. Agyarko would attract more professionals and technocrats into the NPP. He said the party needs to create an environment that encourages competent professionals to contribute their expertise to its development and future governance.

He maintained that the NPP requires a National Chairman who can unite the party, strengthen its structures and make it more attractive to both existing members and prospective supporters. In his view, Mr. Agyarko’s experience and inclusive approach make him capable of achieving this objective.

He further expressed confidence that, if elected National Chairman, Boakye Agyarko would work closely with the NPP’s flag-bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and provide the necessary organisational and political support to help him achieve his objectives.

Hon. Assuah said Mr. Agyarko would be committed to working with Dr. Bawumia, party executives, grassroots members and other stakeholders to build the unity and mobilisation required for electoral success. He believes a strong working relationship between the National Chairman and the flag-bearer would be critical to helping Dr. Bawumia achieve his goal of winning power for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.

Hon. Assuah therefore urged NPP delegates to choose a National Chairman who can effectively promote, support and advance the political agenda of the party’s flag-bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, while uniting the party around the common goal of winning power.

He said he was firmly convinced that Hon. Boakye Agyarko is the man for the job, describing him as a leader with the experience, political maturity and organisational capacity required to work with Dr. Bawumia and help deliver victory for the NPP in 2028.

“Regardless of what others may be saying, I believe Boakye Agyarko is the person who can lead the NPP to the victory land,” Hon. Assuah said, urging party delegates to carefully consider the experience and leadership credentials of all the candidates before making their choice.

He therefore appealed to NPP delegates across the country to vote massively for Boakye Agyarko when the party goes to the polls to elect its National Chairman. Hon. Assuah said electing Mr. Agyarko would give the party the leadership, unity and organisational strength needed to rebuild, support Dr. Bawumia and position the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
