The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Tain District in the Bono Region, Hon. Dr. Lucy Acheampong, has urged residents of Nsawkwa and neighboring communities within the Tain constituency to uphold the country’s laws by reporting wrongdoers to the authorities.
Speaking to newsmen during the commissioning and handing over of the newly constructed Tain District Court in Nsawkwa, she emphasized that law violators must not be manhandled. Instead, offenders should be referred to the police to ensure that cases are handled according to the country’s laws, allowing justice to prevail.
She added that the construction of the court will reduce criminal activities and wrongdoing in the vicinity.
His Lordship, Justice Gabriel Nene Kwao Mate-Teye, High Court Judge of the Bono Region, admonished all who appear before the court—including lawyers, magistrates, clerks, and others—to uphold justice.
Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene, Bono Region Minister, urged Nsawka residents to reaffirm their commitment to fairness, equity, and integrity principles that form the foundation of Ghana’s legal system.
The newly constructed courthouse is expected to enhance access to justice for residents of Nsawka and surrounding communities. Dr. Acheampong expressed gratitude to the government and development partners for supporting the project, stressing its significance in promoting law and order.
In attendance were traditional leaders, security personnel, and local government officials. They pledged to collaborate in maintaining law and order, ensuring the courthouse serves its purpose of delivering justice and promoting peace in the region.
