The Chief of Mpasatia Zongo, Chief Andulai Mohammed, has appealed to the Government to ensure that all Ghanaians have convenient access to watch Black Stars matches, stressing that football remains a powerful force for national unity and social cohesion.
According to the Chief, many football-loving Ghanaians, particularly those living in rural and low-income communities, face challenges in accessing live broadcasts of the national team’s matches due to subscription costs, inadequate television coverage and other financial barriers. He therefore urged the Government to collaborate with broadcasters and other stakeholders to make the matches readily accessible to every Ghanaian.
Chief Andulai Mohammed noted that the Black Stars represent the hopes and aspirations of the entire nation and deserve the unwavering support of all citizens. He said no Ghanaian should be denied the opportunity to cheer for the national team because of financial or technical limitations.
He explained that football has consistently united Ghanaians during major international competitions, bringing people together regardless of their political, ethnic or religious backgrounds. According to him, ensuring easy access to Black Stars matches would enable families, friends and entire communities to rally behind the team in a spirit of patriotism and solidarity.
The traditional leader further called on corporate institutions, telecommunications companies, media organizations and development partners to support the Government’s efforts to improve nationwide access to Black Stars broadcasts. He described such collaboration as an investment in national unity, youth inspiration and sports development.
Chief Andulai Mohammed expressed confidence in the ability of the Black Stars to make Ghana proud on the international stage. He encouraged Ghanaians to remain united, continue praying for the team and offer their unwavering support before, during and after every match.
He also appealed to the Ministry responsible for Sports, broadcasting authorities and all relevant stakeholders to act swiftly to ensure that no Ghanaian is left out because of financial constraints or limited access to television services.
Chief Andulai Mohammed emphasized that making Black Stars matches conveniently accessible to all citizens would strengthen patriotism, promote inclusiveness and reaffirm the Government’s commitment to the welfare and interests of the Ghanaian people.
He concluded by urging Ghanaians to continue believing in the Black Stars and expressed hope that the team would reward the nation’s support with impressive performances and positive results in their upcoming matches.
