NANA AMA KAA CLIMBS STOOL ▪︎AS QUEEN MOTHER OF BIBIANI-ATTAKROM

On Sunday, 24th August 2025, the Attakrom Community Park in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region became the center of rich tradition and celebration as Nana Ama Kaa was installed as the first Queen Mother of Bibiani-Attakrom in a colourful and historic ceremony.

The much-anticipated event drew hundreds of residents, traditional leaders, queen mothers from neighbouring towns, youth groups, and dignitaries who gathered to witness the remarkable occasion that signaled a new dawn in Attakrom’s leadership.

The installation rites, conducted in line with custom, saw Nana Ama Kaa go through the sacred processes of enstoolment before being presented to the public amidst drumming, dancing, and joyous songs. The atmosphere was electrified as youth and women’s groups sang praise songs in her honour, marking the beginning of her reign.

Clad in regal kente and adorned with traditional ornaments, Nana Ama Kaa took her seat on the symbolic stool, signifying her authority and responsibility as the mother of the land. Her majestic appearance was greeted with loud cheers and chants of “All hail Nana Ama Kaa!”

In her acceptance address, the newly installed queen mother called on the youth to live responsible lives and cautioned them to abstain from smoking and other social vices that hinder development. She pledged to work tirelessly to ensure peace in Attakrom, stressing that “the already bad names attached to the community will soon be a thing of the past.”

Adding her voice, Nana Akua Fusuaa, the Abakumahene of Attakrom, described the enstoolment as “a remarkable journey in the history of Attakrom.” She urged the people to give maximum respect to the new queen mother and advised the public to refrain from using abusive words against her, reminding them that “she is now a new person who deserves dignity and honour.”

Also speaking, Aduanaba Nana Kofi Antwi Kumankama Annor, Okyeame to the Pataboaso Chief, encouraged Nana Ama Kaa to uphold truth and integrity in her reign. He noted that she must live by her name to ensure she is trustworthy and able to maintain peace and harmony across Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai and Attakrom.

In strong support, the Odikro of Attakrom expressed his joy at the installation and pledged his full backing. He assured the new queen mother that the traditional council would stand firmly with her to champion development and preserve the unity and culture of the land.

Traditional leaders and opinion leaders who graced the event praised Nana Ama Kaa’s selection, describing her as a unifier and a woman of wisdom, capable of advancing the interests of the community. They called on residents to support her with loyalty, respect, and cooperation.

The colourful event, marked by cultural displays such as adowa dancing and fontomfrom drumming, ended on a jubilant note with residents dancing late into the evening. For the people of Bibiani-Attakrom, the ascent of Nana Ama Kaa onto the queen mother’s stool marked the beginning of a new era of peace, unity, and hope.
