NPP FLAGBEARER RACE:KEN’S TEAM SLAMS “MISLEADING” POLL

Team Hon. Ken has rejected recent opinion polls placing former Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia ahead of other NPP aspirants, describing them as “fake and misleading.”

Mr. Richard Armstrong, Western North Region spokesperson for Ken’s campaign, said the team is not intimidated. “We have mastered our strategies and know the reality on the ground. These numbers do not reflect the true support for Hon. Ken across the country,” he declared.

Armstrong raised doubts about the credibility of the polls, noting that many executives who backed former Vice President Bawumia in 2024 have since withdrawn their support due to poor performance. “In Greater Accra, Western North, and other key regions, Hon. Ken is leading with strong grassroots support,” he added.

He questioned why former Vice President Bawumia continues pleading publicly. “He knows he is losing. He did not even secure more than 37 percent in the last elections. That is why he keeps attacking opponents instead of promoting a clear message,” Armstrong said.

The spokesperson stated that former Vice President Bawumia focuses on attacking rivals rather than presenting his own agenda. “Wherever Bawumia goes, he responds only to critics. Abronye and others are undermining him, while there is fertile ground for Hon. Ken across all 16 regions. Intimidation and financial influence won’t shake us,” he said.

Armstrong stressed that Team Ken remains focused on grassroots engagement. “We urge our members to listen to delegates and respond strategically. Our campaign is built on connection and responsiveness,” he said.

He warned NPP leaders to learn from the disciplined approach of the NDC. “If delegates follow money and make the wrong choice now, it could affect the party’s fortunes in 2028 and beyond,” Armstrong cautioned.

The team also condemned attempts to remove Ken’s campaign billboards in the region. “Such actions are unacceptable. We will respond fully. Our campaign is lawful, peaceful, and focused on winning through genuine support,” he warned.

Unlike Bawumia, Armstrong highlighted, Hon. Ken has promised job creation and youth empowerment. “Our campaign is grounded in real grassroots support, development plans, and a clear vision for the future. Delegates must focus on that,” he said.

He concluded firmly: “We reject these fake polls placing former Vice President Bawumia on top. Hon. Ken remains the preferred candidate in all regions. We are determined to secure victory in the NPP flagbearer race.”
