Salifu 11 Denies Allegations of Causing Violence in Tepa

A pro-NDC youth group based in Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital, called “Salifu 11,” has refuted allegations of causing violence in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The chaos involved the destruction of private and public property, including the burning of ballot materials stored at the Tepa Senior High School and other facilities. Reports also indicate that a vehicle belonging to Nana Agyemang Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate and Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), was set ablaze.

Additionally, irate individuals believed to be associated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly attacked a local radio station owned by the NPP parliamentary candidate and ransacked a warehouse. These acts have disrupted the collation of election results, making it difficult to ascertain accurate figures from the area.

Salifu 11 has been accused of orchestrating the violence in Tepa. However, the group has categorically denied these allegations during a press conference in Goaso.

Abdul Sadick, the Chairman of Salifu 11, stated that the group has no involvement in the Tepa violence. He explained that Salifu 11 operates exclusively in the Ahafo Region and focuses on promoting the agenda of the NDC in a peaceful manner. He stressed that the group has no history of violence and is not associated with any unlawful activities.
