WNR TRAILS IN GIA POLL WITH 33%-POLL RATES REGIONAL MINISTER’S PERFORMANCE LOWEST NATIONALLY

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has emerged as the highest-rated Regional Minister in the September 2026 performance poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics (GIA).

Mr. Gunu recorded a performance rating of 77 percent, placing the Volta Region at the top of the 16-region ranking and above the reported national average of 58 percent.

The Western Region followed in second position with 72 percent, while the Northern Region placed third with 70 percent in the survey.

Bono East recorded 68 percent to occupy the fourth position, followed by Oti Region with 66 percent and Ashanti Region with 65 percent.

Ahafo ranked seventh with 56 percent, while Eastern Region recorded 54 percent. Central Region followed with 52 percent, with Greater Accra and Upper East both recording 51 percent.

North East Region scored 46 percent, placing it 12th, while Bono Region recorded 45 percent to occupy the 13th position.

Upper West Region recorded 39 percent, followed by Savannah Region with 38 percent, placing the two regions 14th and 15th respectively.

At the bottom of the ranking was Western North Region, which recorded 33 percent, the lowest Regional Minister performance rating in the September assessment. The figure was 25 percentage points below the reported national average of 58 percent.

According to the survey details provided, the poll sampled 8,951 Ghanaians aged 16 and above across all 16 regions between September 1 and 22, 2026.

The performance score was calculated by combining respondents who rated performance Excellent and Very Good/Good, and subtracting those who rated it Poor/Very Poor. Average and No Opinion responses were excluded from the calculation.
