The Serial Callers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Jomoro Constituency have paid a total of GH¢2,700 to support the filing and nomination fees of the party’s Communications Officer, Nyamekeh Lenrie.
The amount comprises GH¢2,500 for the filing fee and GH¢200 for the nomination fee, in what the group described as a demonstration of its confidence in the Communications Officer and his contribution to the party.
Chairman of the Jomoro NDC Serial Callers, Philomon Ackah, popularly known as IJK, said the decision to support Mr Nyamekeh was based on his commitment, dedication and contribution to the party over the years.
According to him, the Communications Officer had been a listening and dedicated party member who, particularly over the past four years, had worked tirelessly to promote the NDC and support the activities of the Serial Callers in the constituency.
Mr Ackah said Nyamekeh Lenrie had played a significant role in promoting the party’s activities and supporting efforts to retain the Jomoro parliamentary seat for the NDC.
He further credited him with supporting the campaign that brought the incumbent Member of Parliament to power, as well as contributing to the party’s performance in the presidential election. He said the Communications Officer had also helped communicate the developmental projects of the NDC government to the electorate while highlighting the party’s programmes and policies through the media, one-on-one engagements, community outreach and other communication platforms.
The Chairman said, in his view, Nyamekeh’s consistent communication work and support for the party had made him an important member of the team. He added that the Serial Callers were therefore prepared to continue supporting him in the discharge of his duties.
The Organiser of the group, Bernard Abanga, said the Serial Callers believed in maintaining a winning team, arguing that there was no need to change a team that had demonstrated commitment and effectiveness. He therefore called for the continued retention of Nyamekeh Lenrie as Communications Officer.
Another member of the group, Daniel Senyo, described Nyamekeh Lenrie as a staunch NDC member who had served the party since 2006. He noted that Nyamekeh had progressed through the party’s structures, from the branch and zonal levels to the constituency level, and therefore deserved the group’s continued support.
For his part, Nyamekeh Lenrie expressed his profound appreciation to the Serial Callers for their financial support towards his filing and nomination fees. He pledged to continue working for the party and urged the group to maintain its support, assuring them of his commitment to delivering his responsibilities to the satisfaction of the NDC in the Jomoro Constituency.
In his concluding remarks, Mr Francis Anwi, popularly known as Emmanuel Cold Store, admonished delegates and branch executives to retain Nyamekeh Lenrie as Communications Officer. He said the Communications Officer was an important member of the team and could play a critical role in supporting the Member of Parliament and helping the NDC maintain the Jomoro parliamentary seat.
Mr Anwi therefore called on all branch executives and delegates to vote massively for Nyamekeh Lenrie to enable him to retain the Communications Officer position and continue contributing to the party’s communication efforts and electoral activities in the Jomoro Constituency.
