AOWIN MCE SECURES NEW SEWAGE TANKER TO IMPROVE SANITATION

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Aowin, Hon. Stephen Ntow Morcher, has secured a new sewage tanker to support sanitation efforts across the municipality, in a move widely described as timely and impactful.

The acquisition of the tanker is expected to significantly improve waste management services, particularly in communities that have long struggled with the disposal of liquid waste and faecal matter.

What has drawn even greater public attention, however, is the fact that the MCE personally financed the procurement of the tanker, demonstrating a strong personal commitment to addressing sanitation challenges in the area.

Residents and opinion leaders have praised the gesture, describing it as a clear indication of the MCE’s dedication to improving public health and environmental conditions in Aowin.

Sanitation remains a critical issue in many parts of the municipality, with concerns over poor waste disposal, inadequate facilities, and the risk of disease outbreaks continuing to affect communities.

The introduction of the sewage tanker is therefore expected to ease the burden on existing sanitation infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of waste collection and disposal services.

Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony, Hon. Morcher emphasized the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, noting that good sanitation is essential for the health and well-being of the people.

He disclosed that plans are underway to ensure that every household in the municipality constructs its own toilet facility, a move he said would go a long way to eliminate open defecation and improve overall sanitation.

According to him, the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to promote hygiene and ensure a cleaner and healthier environment across all communities in Aowin.

The MCE further assured residents of his continued commitment to supporting development initiatives that directly impact their lives, particularly in the areas of sanitation, health, and infrastructure, while urging the public to play their part in keeping their surroundings clean.
