Elders/Residents Of Agyakaamanso Appeals To Gov’t For Support In Provision of social amenities

The elders of Adjakaaman Community, led by Abusua Penin, Nana Yaw Donkor, have made a passionate appeal to the government and other stakeholders to provide their community with essential social amenities. At the installment ceremony for a new Queen mother and replacement of Abusua Penin, held at the community center, Nana Yaw Donkor highlighted the numerous challenges faced by the residents. He cited the lack of potable water, toilet facilities, and good road networks as major concerns.

“We are calling on the government to come to our aid and provide us with the basic amenities that will improve the quality of life for our people,” Nana Abusua Penin Yaw Donkor said. The Chief noted that the community has been neglected for far too long and that it was time for the authorities to take their plight seriously. “We have been patient for far too long, but our patience is wearing thin. We need action, not promises,” Nana Abusua Penin Yaw Donkor emphasized.

The elders, who were present at the program, nodded in agreement, sharing their own experiences of struggling to access basic services. The Chairperson of Adjakaaman Community, Madam Faustina Benful, recounted how her grandchildren had to walk for miles to access a toilet facility, only to find it in a deplorable state. “This is unacceptable,” Madam Faustina Benful said. “We need decent toilet facilities, clean water, and good roads. We are not asking for too much.”

Madam Faustina Benful also mentioned that, with the support of some miners, she started an ultramodern police station, but it is not yet fully completed. Nana Yaw Donkor and his elders have vowed to continue pushing for the provision of social amenities, saying they will not rest until their community is transformed. “We will continue to knock on the doors of the authorities until they listen to our pleas,” Madam Faustina Benful said.

The entire Adjakaaman community is hopeful that their appeal will be heard, and they will soon see the provision of the social amenities they so desperately need.
