GAAM Leads the Charge For Violence-Free December 7 Polls

As Ghana prepares for its presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7, the Ghana Assembly Members Association (GAAM) has issued a statement emphasizing the importance of peaceful elections. With tensions running high, GAAM’s message serves as a timely reminder of the need for calm and responsible behavior from all stakeholders.

On behalf of the entire association, National President Hon. Ackah Nelson Frank called for peaceful relations among all stakeholders to foster unity and peace ahead of the polls. He reiterated the need for peaceful elections, citing countries such as Rwanda that have suffered from election violence, and urged citizens to avoid resorting to violence. A Call to Action for Stakeholders

GAAM’s statement specifically targets three key groups:

_The Media: prioritize factual reporting, avoid sensationalism, and promote peaceful electioneering.
_Security Forces: ensure they are adequately prepared to handle potential conflicts.
_Politicians: focus on issue-based campaigns and promote inter-party dialogue.
