The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal (WAW) in the Western region, Hon. Lord Nana Tandoh has declared that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot match itself to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in terms of developmental projects.

He said there are several evidences to support his claim.

Speaking to the press, Hon. Lord Nana Tandoh praised the performance of the Wassa Amenfi West municipality under Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo’s leadership, contrasting it with the previous NDC government, which according to him cannot boost of a single monumental project in the Municipality.

In his statement, he noted that the Municipality has observed significant improvement in the health sector, security, education, sanitation, agriculture and other areas.

Drawing attention to his tremendous accomplishments in office, the astute politician emphasized the assembly’s success in offering free Wi-Fi to Asankrangua Senior High School and internet connectivity to the majority of the elementary and junior high schools in the Municipality. Adding the self-help program has also been a powerful tool to ensure the residents get access to water.

Hon. Lord Nana Tandoh stated that his outfit under the Akufo Addo government has been able to increase police visibility in the Municipality. He said the Fire and Immigration services have had new ultra-modern office complex to augment their duties. “The self-help program, water for all and other significant policies have helped us a lot. The water for all has increased the number of individuals who are enjoying quality water in their homes, however the police and immigration officers have also had their fair share”.

Nonetheless, he restated that a number of farm roads which were very bad have been given a makeover during his time in office, adding his outfit has built court complex in addition to support the growth of the Municipality.

“Our major problem here is our roads, but I can say we have done well to reshape the majority of the roads. Mumuni to Mumuni Nkwanta road and a lot of them are now motorable for use”, he stated.

In the health sector, he commended Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo for the development of a monumental hospital in Wassa Dunkwa, and mentioned upcoming initiatives to ensure accessible healthcare for the residents.

“Let me take this opportunity to thank H. E the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and his visionary government for this monumental drive. We now have a big hospital in addition to other ones. We want the NDC to tell the world their achievements even after several years in government. They can’t compare themselves to the NPP and it’s a fact”.

“Plans are under to erect more barriers and permanent structures for the police officers on the Asankrangua -Bekwai highway to curb the robbery attacks. This is to help our people to have their peace of minds in their businesses effectively”, he concluded.
