A/R: Mponua Npp PC’s Aide Denies Allegations Of PC Ordering Thugs To Attack NDC PC, Others

Atwima Mponua, Ashanti Region – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Atwima Mponua has dismissed allegations that their Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, ordered thugs to attack some Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their Parliamentary Candidate during the inauguration of the DRIP equipment at Nyinahin.

According to the Personal Aide (PA) to the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Opambour Agyeman the allegations are “false” and “mischievous”. He emphasized that they are committed to a peaceful and democratic electoral process.

He stated that their focus is on engaging with voters and showcasing their candidate’s vision for the constituency, rather than resorting to violence. He highlighted that on the day of the event, the NPP’s achievements in the constituency were acknowledged, including support for the NDC Parliamentary Candidate’s education through the MP’s common fund.

However, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate (Hon. Stephen Yeboah) forcefully attempted to take the microphone from the MC to respond which nearly disrupted the program. The aide emphasized that their candidate was unaware of the unfortunate incident and was surprised to see reports claiming he orchestrated the alleged attacks.

The denial comes after reports of clashes between supporters of the two political parties in the constituency. The NPP maintains that their supporters were not involved in any acts of violence or intimidation.

The NPP has urged the public to disregard the allegations and focus on the party’s message of development and progress for the constituency.
