NKWANTA YOUTH REJECT MP’S RELIEF ITEMS, Kini Can’t Back Our Opponents and Still Feed Us

On Monday, 14th July 2025, we received information through the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) that we should come for some relief items that the Nkwanta South MP, Hon. Geofrey Kini, had procured for victims of the recent attacks and shootings in Keri, Pawa, and Bonakye.

Although this appears to be a kind and thoughtful gesture coming from the Hon. MP, we are sorry to say we have no need for such items for the fact that the items are coming from the Honourable MP. Again, we would like to remind the Honourable MP that kindness that hides behind itself a malicious intent to harm is no kindness, and we, Akyodes, cannot be deceived by his ostensible kindness, apparently designed to conceal his bias and clandestine manoeuvres in support of the agenda to wipe Akyodes away from Nkwanta.

Has the MP not demonstrated enough that he is in bed with Adeles and Challas in the ongoing conflict, and that he is working tirelessly to help them eliminate Akyodes from Nkwanta and seize the Nkwanta lands for them, just as he promised in the run-up to the 2024 Parliamentary Elections? Was it not the reason Adeles, in the midst of the conflict, installed him as a Development Chief? Why then does he want to pretend that he is a friend and father to all, including Akyodes?

We take exception to this cunningness of character. Just in case the Honourable MP has forgotten his stand in this conflict, we want to ask:

1. Where was he when Adeles and Challas, in a press conference held at Nkwanta on Tuesday, 24th October 2023, threatened to kill Akyodes following plans to celebrate our annual yam festival—which was not a new thing to him (MP)? Did he care that the lives of Akyodes and, by extension, the good people of Nkwanta were in danger?

2. Where was the MP when Adeles shot a poor, innocent Akyode man in his house on Saturday, 28th October 2023, because of the celebration? Did it appear to him that a human being had been killed?

3. Where was the Honourable MP when Adeles, Challas, and their thugs seized Nkwanta for three weeks—28th October to 19th November 2023—burning and destroying the houses, shops, cars, and other valuable properties of Akyodes in Nkwanta?

4. Where was the MP when Adeles and Challas sent thugs, including his bodyguard in town, Mr. Alidu Musah (SURAJ), and other men in police uniform to attack and kill Akyodes in the market on 20th November 2023, which resulted in reprisals as the Akyodes stood in defence?

5. Where was the MP when his bodyguard, SURAJ, seized the police station, telling them who to arrest and who not to arrest in connection to the conflict that had erupted—when he himself is an accomplice? How did Suraj wield such powerful influence over the police?

6. Where was the MP when State Security, led by the police, went on a hunting spree for Akyodes, arresting and intimidating them for a conflict that was instigated by Adeles and Challas under his watch, while the latter walked freely in town? Were Adeles and Challas not being protected because of their affiliation with him?

7. Where was the MP when Suraj and Agya Rubber, in a WhatsApp post on the Nkwanta Forum, exclaimed, “War with victory is good leadership…”? What war were they claiming victory over—and yet were exonerated by the powers that be?

8. Where was the MP when Mr. Alidu Musah (Suraj) was heard in an audio recording threatening to kill Akyodes when President Mahama was sworn in as President of the Republic? Did it matter to him that Akyodes were being threatened by his boy?

9. Where was the MP when men in military camouflage chased and shot at Akyodes, resulting in the killing of an innocent Kokomba? Did it matter to him that Akyodes were the targets of those shootings?

10. Where was the MP when Adeles and Challas built a barrier at Nsana Zongo, where they seized Akyodes from passing vehicles and tortured them, subjecting them to all kinds of human rights abuses?

11. Where was the MP when some Kokombas rose to attack Akyodes following the death of the Nkwanta SHS student—which was originally targeted at Akyodes? Was he not happy that the roping in of Kokombas against Akyodes would guarantee victory for his Adele-Challa brothers?

12. Since the conflict erupted, when has the Honourable MP visited or sent words of condolence to Akyodes? When has he issued a statement condemning the attacks? Has he not chosen to remain silent because it is Akyodes who are suffering and losing?

In short, we want the Honourable MP to know that he is not a friend to us, and must not carry himself as such. We know all his secret dealings and support for the fight against us, and we would not be fooled by his deceitful kindness.

What is the worth of a bag of rice coming from the man who eats and dines with the very people who have inflicted so much pain on us and have proven beyond words that they are a threat to our very survival?

What is a bag of rice to a people who have been falsely tagged as criminals just because the majority of them are not affiliated with the party in government?

What is a bag of rice to people whom the Honourable MP, in collaboration with the Regional Minister, MCE, and Police Command, are using state security to arrest, intimidate, and drive away from their homes—only for others (Adeles and Challas) to burn and destroy them?

What is a bag of rice to people whose relatives state security operatives, at the behest of the Honourable MP, have arrested and taken to unknown destinations for no apparent reason?

What is a bag of rice to a people when you have charged your security operatives to arrest and intimidate them, and they can no longer sit in their own homes—people who are now living in the bush?

What is a bag of rice to innocent people who have been killed because of your unchecked allegiance?
