HIGH FUEL PRICES SUFFOCATING TRANSPORT BUSINESS● VVIP KUMASI BRANCH MANAGER APPEALS FOR PRICE REDUCTION

The Kumasi Branch Manager of VVIP Transport, Emmanuel Amuzu, has appealed to the government to consider reducing fuel prices to ease the pressure on transport operators and passengers across the country.

According to him, the continuous increase in fuel prices is affecting the transport business, making it difficult for operators to manage rising operational costs while maintaining affordable services for customers.

Mr. Amuzu said transport companies are working hard to provide reliable services despite the challenges, noting that fuel remains one of the major expenses affecting their daily operations.

He explained that VVIP conducts routine checks on its drivers to ensure they are fit, disciplined and prepared before being assigned to operate buses as part of measures to promote road safety.

He added that the company places passenger safety at the centre of its operations and constantly monitors drivers to ensure they comply with safety standards.

Mr. Amuzu identified poor road conditions, careless driving by some big vehicles and narrow roads as some of the major causes of accidents on Ghana’s roads.

He appealed to the government to find lasting solutions to these challenges, particularly by improving road infrastructure, while urging drivers to exercise caution and responsibility whenever they are using the roads.

Mr. Amuzu further revealed that long-distance VVIP buses are provided with police escorts to help ensure safer journeys and enhance security for passengers on major routes.

He urged customers to continue having confidence and trust in VVIP, assuring them that the company values their safety, comfort and satisfaction.

He acknowledged that road accidents can sometimes occur suddenly due to unforeseen circumstances, but stressed that the company makes every effort possible to prevent such incidents.

The Kumasi Branch Manager said VVIP has the interest of its customers at heart and remains committed to providing quality and reliable transportation services, describing the company as one of the best transport operators in Ghana.
