The Assembly Member for Hwenampori electoral area in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, Hon. Eric Antwi Boasiako has lamented over electrification problem facing the new settlers in the area.
He mentioned that the community has been plunged into darkness due to the development, but he is appealing to the government for extension support.
While addressing the press, he stated the assembly had already distributed some bulbs in support, but that wasn’t enough for them. Adding the lightning can adequately check security in the area and improve upon their education.
“We have over ten thousand new settlers living in darkness and we need the help of the authorities to do the extension of the electrification. The assembly has supported in diverse ways but that only can’t solve the problem,”
Hon Eric Antwi Boasiako emphasized that drains have become a significant problem for them, as the overflowing bridges lead to flooding in nearby areas, adding they sometimes resort to communal labour to desilt the choked gutter to pave the way for the free flow of water.
As per education, he appealed to the public and other CSOs to come to their aid in support of means to cushion the brilliant but the needy children in the electoral area
“One major challenge is means to support the need children who are willing to further their education but lack the resources. I will plead with all and sundry to support these brilliant but needy ones in our societies,” he noted.
